Travel Testing

Canada HealthLabs travel testing uses PCR and rapid tests to satisfy proof of COVID-19 negative status required for travel.

Samples are collected at CHL's downtown Toronto testing centre, or customized sample collection can be arranged at designated locations.

New international travel regulations require travellers to provide negative results of a recognized COVID-19 test prior to departure. The test type required varies by destination and by transportation provider.

Most countries and airlines require a negative PCR test prior to departure. CHL also offers rapid antigen testing when antigen tests are accepted. Check airline and government entry requirements to decide which test is accepted for your trip. CHL provides travel testing in downtown Toronto in the Concourse Level of TD Tower. Results for PCR test samples collected at the Toronto testing centre before 5 PM will be available before 11 AM the next day. Results for rapid antigen testing are available online in 30 minutes.

CHL's online test certificates can be used for departure clearance in both directions if you return to Canada within the 72 hour window of when you took your test. If you get a PCR test, you can use that one test for both your departure and return flights if you arrive back in Canada within 72 hours of taking the test. This saves you the cost and hassle of having to get a test done in the US for your return flight.
